Training Advisory Board - Robert Marquez
Robert Marquez began his Law Enforcement and Intelligence career in 1986 with the California Department of Corrections.
From 1987 to 2000 Marquez was assigned to different prison facilities where he worked in the Administrative Segregation Units and Security Housing Units. In 2001 Marquez became the Institutional Gang Investigator (IGI) at Pelican Bay State Prison. He held this assignment until 2004. In 2004 he was promoted to the rank of Special Agent and assigned to the Special Service Unit (SSU).
Robert Marquez has reviewed over 1000 prison gang member validations, interviewed hundreds of prison gang members, and investigated hundreds of crimes committed by prison gang members, and has testified as an expert in State Municipal and Superior courts as well as in Federal court.
Marquez has taught all over the Western United States on the topics of Prison Gangs, the Mexican Mafia and the Aryan Brotherhood; including for CCGIA, CGTF, CGIA, AZGIA, Colorado STING, MGIA, and the California Attorney General Conference. Furthermore, Marquez is widely known as one of the nation’s leading experts on the Mexican Mafia and is highly sought after for his expertise and knowledge.
