Training Advisory Board - Todd Drew
Todd Drew started his career with the Kern County Sheriffs Department in 1986 as a Detention Officer at the Lerdo Faclility.
In November of 1987 he started with CDCR at the California Correctional Institution (CCI) in Tehachapi California. In March of 1995 he was given a position in the Investigative Services Unit (ISU), doing narcotic investigations, crime sceen investigation, and provided training at the monthly "In Service Training" classes. In 1998, he accepted a position as the Instititional Gang Investigator (IGI), doing numerous validation, investigations ranging from staff threats to homicides, and providing training on the validation process. Todd was placed on numerous special assignments with what use to be called the Law Enforcement and Investigations Unit (LEIU), now called the Office of Correctional Safety (OCS).
In June of 2005, he promoted to Sgt., at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano. Todd accepted a position as the Investigative Sergeant and conducted internal affairs investigations regarding complains from staff and inmates. In February of 2006, Todd accepted a position with the Office of Correctional Safety, with the Gang Intelligence Operations Unit, conducting debriefs of Prison Gang Members, provide training to outside Law Enforcement Agencies, and respond to major incidents at the institutions up and down the state of California.
